Ruth Baker

Ruth joined Epsom Bowling Club as a new bowler in 2013.  She played her very first

competitive game away against Ember on Wednesday 29th May 2013. (Lead).

She reached 2 Finals in her very first year at Epsom Bowling Club.

Ruth played her first game in the Past Times Competition in 2014 against

Old Coulsdon (Lead). Ruth was a member of the squad that won the East Surrey

League in 2014.  She won her first trophy at Epsom in 2014 (Handicap Triples)Ruth became Ladies' Treasurer in 2015 - 16.

She became the Competition Secretary in 2017 - 24.

Ruth was a member of the squad that won the Vilamoura Mixed League in 2017.

Ruth lost in the Carol Shannon Triples in 2021.  She played with Trish Southgate & Mary Green.

Ruth won the Davis Banbury Trophy at Reigate Priory Invitation Day on 9th August 2023, (with Mary Green & Trish Southgate).

Ruth organised a very successful Windeler Cup Competition on Thursday 22nd August 2024.

Susan joined in late July 2022 as a novice bowler. Sue played her first competitive match for the Club against Ashtead on 16/08/22.  She played in a Men's match.

Elaine joined in July 2022 as a novice bowler.

Runner Up in the Ladies Drawn Pairs (with Mary Green) at Mole Valley IBC 2023/24.

Sandy Cooper

Sandy joined in 2017 as a novice bowler. She played her first game at Wallington on

Thursday 20th July 2017 in a Friendly Triples.  She played lead.  Sandy played in her very

first outside Competition for Epsom on Wednesday 15th May 2019 against Cheam.

She led & her rink won 23 - 10.  Epsom won the match 42 - 33.

Sandy was elected as the Ladies' representative on the Executive Committee in 2021/22/23/24.

Indoors

Sandy was a member of the team that won the Eric Hingston Cup in 2022.

Sandy became only the second lady to reach the final of the Ward Cup in 2023. She was a member of the rink that lost in the Semi Final of the West Surrey League in 2024.

Fiona Drinkall (Fi)

Fiona (Fi) joined Epsom Bowling Club as a Social bowler in September 2020. She then joined the Club in April 2021 as a playing member. Fi played her first match for Epsom Bowling Club on the 5th August 2021.

Fiona reached the final of the June Hope Cup (S&DBA). She lost 8 - 21 to Julia Cheeseman (Cheam Fields).

Fi reached the Area Final of the Bowls England Mixed Fours in 2023 (with Mary Green, Ted Ray & David Fearn).

Fi (with Mary Green) lost 14 - 16 in the Sutton & District B A BLESMA Pairs on 23rd September 2023.

Fi was elected Membership Secretary in February 2024.

In 2024 Fi became the first lady member to win the 100 Up Cup by beating Wayne Thornton 100 - 90.

Mary Green

Mary joined Epsom Bowling Club from Ember BC.  She also played at Oxshott for 15 years.  She played her very first match for Epsom on 1st May 2021 against Reigate Priory.

Mary lost in the Carol Shannon Triples in 2021.  She played with Trish Southgate & Ruth Baker.  Mary was elected Ladies Vice Captain on 10th October 2022 for the 2023/24 season.

Sandie Harvey

Sandie joined Epsom Bowling Club in 2015.  She won her first Outside Competition match in the St Raphael Pairs

(with Andrew Turnbull) v Cheam Fields 17 - 11.

Sandie joined the Executive Committee as Membership Secretary in 2021/23. She was elected as the Social Secretary (with Martine Ellis) at the January 2024 AGM.

Elizabeth (Liz) Hind

Liz joined in 2021.  She has some experience of playing bowls. She played her first match on 1st May 2021 against Reigate Priory.

Liz was elected Ladies Secretary for 2022/23. She was elected Senior Vice President in February 2024.

Liz was a member of the team that won the Eric Hingston Cup in 2022. She was runner up in the Novice Singles & Ladies Pairs at King George Field in the 2023./24 season.

Anne Hoffmann

Anne was born in Edinburgh, Scotland.  She retired from teaching in 1998 and joined Epsom

Bowling Club as a novice in 2000.  Anne was Vice Captain in 2006 and is the currently the

Child Protection Officer. (Safeguarding Officer).  Anne was elected Ladies Captain  in

2007 and remained in this position - 2009.

In 2010 Anne became the Ladies' Match Secretary.

Anne reached the Semi Final of the Surrey Fours in 2010 with Maggie O'Sullivan,

Eileen Mills & Gill Sperring.

Anne was a member of the squad that won the East Surrey League in 2005, 2006 & 2014.

She was elected Senior Vice President in 2015.  In 2017 Anne was appointed Treasurer

for the Ladies' Bowling Committee.

Anne was a member of the squad that won the Vilamoura Mixed League in 2017.

Anne became the Club President in 2018/19. She played her 100th match in the ESL on

Saturday 3rd August 2019 against Wallington.  Anne was elected as Vice Captain for 2020.

Anne was presented with the Lifetime Achievement award on Friday 17th May 2024.

Marilyn Hoye

Marilyn joined Epsom Bowling Club in 2012.  She had previously bowled at Sutton Bowling Club.

She was elected Vice Captain in 2013.  In 2014 Marilyn was elected Ladies Captain and again for 2015.

Marilyn was a member of the squad that won the East Surrey League in 2014.

Marilyn resigned from Epsom Bowling Club in November 2014.   She rejoined in 2019.

Marilyn agreed to look after the Mixed matches with Terry Hoye for the 2019 season.
