Jubilee Cup Epsom played the quarter final in the Jubilee Cup on Monday 25th January 2019 & won on 1 rink, lost on the other & lost overall 37 - 44. This was a very close game across the 2 rinks with the scores level 15 - 15 after 10 ends & 28 - 28 after 15 ends. Epsom went ahead 35 - 32 after 18 ends, but were outscored 2 - 12 over the last 3 ends to lose overall by 7 shots. Details: Rink 2 Phil Sims John Warren Terry Hoye Les Owen won 25 - 24 This rink found themselves 0 - 10 down after 7 ends, but won the next 6 ends to go 18 - 10 ahead (13 ends). They dropped 5 shots on the next end, but were still ahead 23 - 18 after 18 ends. On the last end Epsom held 3 shots with one Raynes Park/Merton bowl to play. The skip managed to get the shot leaving Epsom winning by 1 shot. Rink 3 Keith Roberts John Huxford Peter Miller Jim Scott lost 12 - 20 Epsom led 8 - 5 after 10 ends, but went behind 9 - 13 on end 15. They lost the last 3 ends to lose by 8 shots. Spitfire League Epsom played in the Semi Final of the Spitfire League on Wednesday 27th February 2019 and lost against Purley Bury. They then played Monotype in the 3rd/4th play off and lost this game as well. Each game was played over 10 ends. Details: Semi Final: Rink 1 Stefan Tomm Trish Southgate Phil Sims Martin Harbottle won 10 - 8 Epsom led 7 - 4 after 5 ends & won by 2 shots Rink 2 Brian Kenyon Heather Pigden Fred Read Peter Miller lost 6 - 10 Epsom led 4 - 2 after 5 ends, but lost by 4 shots. Rink 3 Dave Pearce Eileen Mills Keith Roberts John Warren lost 11 - 18 Epsom had a poor first 5 ends finding themselves 2 - 17 down. However, they had a better second half but lost by 7 shots. Play off for 3rd place Rink 4 Dave Pearce Eileen Mills Keith Roberts John Warren lost 10 - 15 Epsom was behind all through this game finally losing by 5 shots. Rink 5 Brian Kenyon Heather Pigden Fred Read Peter Miller won 10 - 6 Epsom led 5 - 1 after 5 ends & won by 4 shots. Rink 6 Stefan Tomm Trish Southgate Phil Sims Martin Harbottle lost 7 - 14 Epsom was 4 - 8 down after 5 ends & lost by 7 shots. Well done to Epsom for reaching the Semi Final of this Competition. The Club were given £80 for reaching the Semi Final. |

Mole Valley Cup Epsom played their fourth round match in the Mole Valley Cup against Epsom Park on Friday 1st March 2019 and lost 11 - 23. Details: Heather Pigden Trish Southgate Martin Harbottle Simon Mellor lost 11 - 23 Epsom only won 5 of the 18 ends played. They were 7 - 13 down after 10 ends & further behind 9 - 21 after 15 ends. They lost by 12 shots. Final Score: Epsom 11 Epsom Park 23 |

Mole Valley Cup Epsom played their third round match in the Mole Valley Cup against Ashtead on Friday 22nd February 2019 and won 14 - 12. Details: Trish Southgate Heather Pigden Peter Miller Martin Harbottle won 14 - 12 Epsom led 9 - 3 after 10 ends and were still ahead 13 - 9 after 15 ends. They won by 2 shots Final Score: Epsom 14 Ashtead 12 |

Mole Valley Cup Epsom played their second round match in the Mole Valley Cup against Bookham 'A' on Friday 15th February 2019 and were well beaten 13 - 19. Details: Audrey Jones David Ganney Eileen Mills Fred Read lost 13 - 19 Epsom led 3 - 1 after 3 ends, but lost the next 3 ends dropping a total of 12 shots to go behind 3 - 13. They got back to 13 - 16 after 14 ends, but lost the last 2 ends to lose by 6 shots. Final Score: Epsom 13 Bookham 'A' 19 |

Spitfire League Epsom played their fourth fixture of the season in the Spitfire League against Redhill BC on Wednesday 6th February 2019. They lost on all 3 rinks, and the match 38 - 55 (0 - 10). After qualifying for the quarter finals this was a big disappointment result for Epsom. Details: Rink 1 Pat Buckley Audrey Jones Phil Sims Fred Read lost 14 - 21 Epsom was 6 - 12 down after 8 ends and went on to lose by 7 shots. Rink 2 Brian Kenyon Lesley South Brian Collis Keith Roberts lost 12 - 17 Epsom was 4 - 11 down after 12 ends, but picked up 6 shots on end 13 & 2 shots on end 14 to go ahead 12 - 11. Redhill drew level on the penultimate end and then scored a count of 5 leaving Epsom losing by 5 shots. Rink 3 Stefan Tomm Dave Pearce Marilyn Walsh-Hoye John Warren lost 12 - 17 Epsom led 12 - 8 after 10 ends, but lost all the remaining ends to lose by 5 shots. Jubilee Cup Epsom played their third game in the Jubilee Cup on Friday 28th January 2019 against Auriol & won on both rinks. This was an excellent win 34 - 12. This win puts Epsom in the Quarter Final. Details: Rink 2 Keith Robert John Huxford John Warren Jim Scott won 16 - 7 Epsom was behind in the early part of the game, but came back well over the last few ends to win by 9 shots. Rink 3 Andrew Turnbull Martin Harbottle Terry Hoye Les Owen won 18 - 5 Epsom led all evening on this rink. They led 8 - 1 after 6 ends & 13 - 4 after 12 ends. They won by 13 shots. Final Score: Epsom 34 Auriol 12 Epsom 6 points Auriol 0 points |

Details: Rink 4 Keith Roberts John Huxford John Warren Peter Miller won 17 - 16 Epsom was 9 - 2 ahead after 5 ends & further in front 15 - 6 on the 10th end. Cuddington came back well & scored 4 shots on the penultimate end to tie the scores. Epsom won the last end on a very close measure to win by 1 shot. Rink 5 Stefan Tomm Andrew Turnbull Terry Hoye Les Owen drew 12 - 12 Epsom was 1 - 6 down after 5 ends, but went ahead 9 - 7 on end 10. Epsom dropped 3 shots over the last 2 ends ending up with a draw. Final Score: Epsom 29 Cuddington 28 Epsom 5 points Cuddington 1 point Andrew Turnbull played his first game in this Competition. |

Spitfire League Epsom played their third fixture of the season in the Spitfire League against Reigate Priory BC on Wednesday 23rd January 2019. They won on all 3 rinks, and the match 56 - 28 (10 - 0). This was the best win in this League since Epsom joined this Competition in 2014/15. Trish Southgate played her first game in this Competition. Details: Rink 4 Brian Kenyon Heather Pigden Brian Collis Martin Harbottle won 16 - 13 Epsom led 8 - 5 after 7 ends, but lost the next 2 ends to go 8 - 11 down. They were still behind 9 - 12 on the 11th end, but won the next 4 ends to lead 16 - 12. They dropped 1 shot on the last end & won by 3 shots. Rink 5 Lesley South Pat Buckley Phil Sims Fred Read won 19 - 6 Epsom restricted Reigate to win just 6 ends in this game. Epsom led 13 - 3 after 10 ends & 19 - 4 after 14 ends. They won by 13 shots. Rink 6 Stefan Tomm Trish Southgate Dave Pearce John Warren won 21 - 9 A similar story to rink 5 with Epsom winning 11 of the 16 ends. Jubilee Cup Epsom played their first game in the Jubilee Cup on Monday 7th January 2019 & won on 1 rink, lost on 1 rink and won overall 26 - 23. Details: Rink 4 Phil Sims John Warren Terry Hoye Les Owen won 18 - 11 After 8 ends Epsom was 5 - 6 down, but scored 8 shots over the next 3 ends to go ahead 13 - 6. Cheam narrowed the gap to 3 shots (13 - 10) on the 13th end but Epsom scored 5 shots on the next end to go 18 - 10 ahead. They won by 7 shots. Rink 5 Keith Roberts John Huxford Peter Miller Jim Scott lost 8 - 12 The scores were level 6 - 6 after 7 ends, but Epsom lost the next 4 ends to go 6 - 12 behind. They lost by 4 shots. They won on 2 rinks, lost on 1 rink & won the match 46 - 38 (8 - 2). Details: Rink 4 Bill Lawrence Lesley South Pat Buckley Fred Read won 19 - 10 Epsom led all afternoon on this rink. They led 15 - 4 after 10 ends & won by 9 shots. Rink 5 Stefan Tomm Dave Pearce Eileen Mills John Warren won 14 - 10 Epsom got off to an excellent start when they led 10 - 1 after 5 ends. They led 13 - 4 after 10 ends & went on to win by 4 shots. Rink 6 Keith Roberts Heather Pigden Brian Kenyon Martin Harbottle lost 13 - 18 Epsom was in control right up to the 13th end when they led 13 - 11. Indoor Friendly v Donyngs Epsom played against Donyngs on Sunday 4th November 2018 and won on 1 rink, drew on 1 rink, lost on 1 rink & lost overall 53 - 57. Details: Rink 4 Audrey Jones Sue Needham Pat Buckley Martin Harbottle lost 11 - 26 Epsom was 3 - 13 down after 10 ends, but closed the gap to 10 - 14 after 15 ends. However, Donyngs outscored Epsom 1 - 12 over the remaining ends leaving Epsom losing by 15 shots. Rink 5 Brian Collis Jim Martin Sylvia Smart Keith Roberts drew 20 - 20 This was a game of two halves. Epsom was 5 - 12 down after 10 ends, but Epsom fought back well to draw the rink. Rink 6 Bill Lawrence Ruth Nixon David Ganney Brian Kenyon won 22 - 11 This was an excellent performance by Epsom on this rink. They led 7 - 6 after 10 ends & 11- 10 after 15 ends.
