Mole Valley Cup
Epsom played Leatherhead in the Final of the Mole Valley
Cup on Friday 6th April 2018. Leading up to qualifying
for the Final Epsom had won 4 matches & drawn 1.

Peter Miller Simon Meller lost 9 - 16
The scores were level 3 - 3 after 6 ends & again level 8
- 8 after 11 ends. Epsom lost their way over the
remaining ends only scoring 1 more shot eventually losing by
7 shots.

Jubilee Cup
Epsom played Supreme in the Semi Final of the Jubilee
Cup on Thursday 5th April 2018 and won on one rink, lost on
the other & lost overall by 2 shots. Epsom led at 10 ends 21
- 16 & 28 - 24 after 15 ends. They still had a 2 shot
advantage, 31 - 29 after 18 ends, but one rink lost the last
3 ends dropping 7 shots.

Warren Jim Scott won 24 - 14
This was an excellent performance on this rink with all 4
players contributing throughout the evening with some very
good bowls. They led 15 - 7 after 12 ends & went on to
win by 10 shots.
Rink 3 Bill Lawrence Keith Roberts
Peter Miller Simon Meller lost 12 - 24
This rink was behind for 10 ends, but levelled the scores
9 - 9 on the 11th end. They only scored 3 more singles
finally losing by 12 shots.
Final Result: Epsom 36 Supreme 38

Jubilee Cup
Epsom played Cuddington in the Quarter Final of the Jubilee
Cup on Thursday 29th March 2018 and won on both rinks,
winning overall 50 - 26. This was an excellent
performance on both rinks after a great deal of disruption
through unavailability & illness.

After 10 ends Epsom led 11 - 8 & went further ahead 19 -
10 on the 15th end. Cuddington conceded on the 18th
end leaving Epsom winners by 10 shots.

Warren Jim Scott won 28 - 14
Epsom started slowly finding themselves 0 - 7 down after
just 3 ends. They were still 4 shots adrift, 10 - 14
after 11 ends, but then won the remaining ends scoring a
total of 18 shots without reply. Cuddington
conceded on the 20th end. They won by 14 shots.
Final Result: Epsom 50 Cuddington 26

Over 60's Inter County Competition

Over 60's travelled to Melton Mowbray on Tuesday 29th March
2018 to play Norfolk

lose in the Final 97 - 105
Details:
This turned out to be a very close encounter. Surrey lost
overall by 8 shots (97 - 105). Surrey started slowly
finding themselves 15 shots adrift (39 – 54) after 10 ends
across the 6 rinks. After 85 ends the scores were level 71 –
71 and still level 86 – 86 after 106 ends had been played.
Surrey did take the lead after 95 ends, 81 – 76, but soon
lost the lead to eventually go down by 8 shots.
Interestingly Surrey lost 17 shots to 25 (8 shots) over the
last 5 ends across the 6 rinks. They won 2 rinks & lost on
4.

East Surrey League Dinner
The East Surrey League Dinner took place at Sutton
Bowling Club on Wednesday 21st March 2018. Bob Blaker,
Graham Coleman, Martin Harbottle, John Meningen, Les Owen &
John Warren attended. After the meal John was
presented with a Cup & Shield (to be kept by the Club) for
Epsom being Runners Up in League Division 1.

Epsom played Cheam in the third game of the Jubilee
Cup on Thursday 8th March 2018 and won on 1 rink, lost on
the second and won overall 28 - 20. Epsom qualify for
the Quarter Final.

After 6 ends Epsom was 1 - 5 down, but scored on the next
4 ends to go 9 - 5 ahead. They dropped 4 shots on the
11th end & went behind 9 - 10 on the 12th end. Going
into the last end Epsom was 2 shots behind, but only managed
1 on the last end to lose by just 1 shot.

After 4 ends Epsom was 1 - 2 down, but scored 10 shots
over the next 3 ends to go ahead 11 - 2. They continued to
dominate the game finally winning by 9 shots.

Cup on Monday 12th February 2018 and won on 1 rink, drew on
the other and won overall 24 - 14.

Epsom played Monotype in the Spitfire League at Donyngs on Wednesday
7th February 2018 and won on 2 rinks,
lost the 3rd & lost overall 38 - 46 (4 - 6). Epsom
fail to qualify narrowly for the quarter finals.

Valley IBC on Friday 2nd February 2018 and won 16 - 8.

This was a very good result as Leatherhead won the

Donyngs on Wednesday 24th January 2018 and won on 2 rinks,
drew the 3rd & won overall 46 - 29 (9 - 1).

This was
a close game with Epsom leading 11 - 7 after 10 ends.
However, Supreme won the remaining ends to snatch a 2 shot
