David Fearn |
David joined Epsom Bowling Club in 2021. He is a novice bowler. David played his first competitive match for Epsom Bowling Club on 27/05/21 against Purley. David played his first match in the ESL on Saturday 14th August 2021. He had an outstanding game at lead. David was elected Men's Secretary in 2021/22/23/24/25. He was elected Club Secretary in 2023/24. He reached the Area Final of the Bowls England Mixed Fours in 2023 with Fi Drinkall, Mary Green & Ted Ray. David was a member of the squad that won the Chrystie League in 2023 & 2024. He lost in the semi final of the S&DBA Ted Peirce Trophy against Keith Roberts 16 - 21. David was a member of the rink that won on the Chrystie League Presentation Evening 12th August 2024. (with Mick Cooper, Barry Coe & Keith Roberts). David reached the Semi Final of the Ted Peirce Trophy in 2024 (S&DBA). David was elected Men's Vice Captain for the 2025 season. Indoor David is a member of Mole Valley Indoor Bowling Club. On the 3rd March 2024 David played with Ted Ray, Wayne Thornton & Mark Hopkins (Leatherhead B C) & beat Croydon 17 - 10 to reach the final of the County Fours. They lost in the Final. In doing so David has now qualified for the Surrey County Indoor Bowling Association Badge Certificate. David was a member of the team that won the Eric Hingston Cup v King George Field on 19/03/24. |

Martin Harbottle
|
Martin joined Epsom Bowling Club in 1990. He was born in Ipswich 1947 & served in the Grenadier Guards from 1965 - 1972. Moved to Epsom in 1970 then worked for an Import Confectionery Company for 15 years. Worked for Atkins for 20 years (which had been great). He was involved with Atkins Staff playing Epsom BC for 16 years in friendly games. Atkins having been victorious on two occasions. Martin was a member of the Epsom team which won the Area Final of the Top Four Competition 2006 with Ted Ray, Peter Miller & Pat Buckley. Martin qualified for his Surrey County Badge in 2007 playing in the pairs with Peter Miller & reached the Quarter Final. Martin was a member of the team which won the Walter Cross Trophy in 2007. Martin was a member of the team that won the Top 10 in 2008 against Warlingham Park Martin was elected Vice Captain in 2010 and also took on the duties of Match Secretary (Sid Bailey unwell). He continued with the position of Match Secretary up to 2025. Martin was a member of the Yonwin Cup team that lost in the Final against Cheam in 2012 & in the Top 10 team that lost to Wallington in the Final. Martin was elected Vice Captain in 2014. Martin reached the Semi Final of the Sutton & District BLESMA Pairs (with Tony Dunn) in 2014. In 2015 Martin played his 200th game in the East Surrey League at Old Coulsdon. He was on the rink that won 33 - 6. Martin was a member of the squad that won the East Surrey League in 2015. Martin lost in the Semi Final of the Surrey Secretaries in 2015. Martin lost in the Semi Final of the Sutton & District Delegates Cup in 2016. He was a member of the team that lost in the Final of the Yonwin Cup in 2016. Martin reached the Area Final of the Secretaries Singles in 2017. He was elected as Senior Vice President of Epsom Bowling Club for 2018. He was a member of the Yonwin Cup team that lost in the Semi Final in 2018. By winning the Ted Peirce Trophy in 2018 this was his first major Singles Trophy in Outside Competitions. Martin has been elected Junior Vice President of Surrey County Bowling Association for the 2019 season. He also was elected Treasurer of the East Surrey League for 2019 - 24. Martin was a member of the successful Yonwin Cup Winners in 2003. He was a member of the team which lost in the Times Herald Final in 1997 and a member of the team which lost in the Top 10 Finals in 2003 & 2006. Martin was a member of the team that won the Top 10 in 2008 against Warlingham Park. Martin was a member of the team that lost in the Final of the Past Times in 2010 & was a member of the team that lost in the Final of the Yonwin Cup in 2010 & 2011. Martin won the S&DBA Ted Peirce Trophy in 2018 by beating John Morton (Carshalton Beeches) 21-15. Martin was elected President of Epsom Bowling Club for 2020/23 & became the Senior Vice President of Surrey County Bowling Association. He was elected in November 2021 as the third Epsom member to hold the honour of Surrey County Bowling Association President for 2022. Martin is the SCMPPBA President for 2023. Indoor Martin was a member of the team that won the Eric Hingston Cup in 2022 & 2024. |

John Hart |
John was born in South East London. He did time in Insurance & Banking and was released in 1999. John started bowling at Epsom Bowling Club in 2000. He was Bar Manager until 2017. He was elected Competition Secretary in 2018. John was a member of the squad that won the Chrystie League in 2004. John reached the Area Finals of the Surrey Triples in 2008 with Brian Kenyon & Graham Pilbrow. John reached the Area 3 Top 4 Final in 2009 with Brian Kenyon, Fred Read & Graham Pilbrow. John was a member of the team that lost in the Final of the Top 10 in 2006 & a member of the team that won the Top 10 in 2008 against Warlingham Park. He was a member of the team that lost in the Final of the Yonwin Cup in 2011 & reached the Area Final of the Surrey Fours in 2011 with George Sperring, Les Owen & Graham Naish. John was runner up in Nobby's Triples in 2010 & 2011. He was a member of the Yonwin Cup team that lost in the Final against Cheam in 2012 & was a member of the squad that won the East Surrey League Title in 2015. John was a member of the squad that won the Vilamoura League in 2017. John now runs the very successful Nobby's Triples. John was a member of the squad that won the Chrystie League in 2023 & 2024. |

Derek Hoffmann |
Derek was born in Edinburgh, Scotland & worked as an Electronics Design Engineer in Scotland & in the USA. He then joined WS Atkins as a Consulting Engineer. Derek joined Epsom Bowling Club in 2000 as a novice bowler. He was Captain of the Men's Bowling Section in 2007/08. He was the Secretary & Vice Captain in 2005 & 2006. Derek became the Secretary of the Men's Bowling Committee in 2010 & also Club Senior Vice President. Derek became the President in 2012/14. Derek became Honorary Vice President at the AGM held on 11th January 2019. Derek changed to Social in 2019, but did bowl on several occasions. He became a full member again for 2021. |

Terry Hoye |
Terry joined Epsom Bowling Club from Ewell BC in 2008. He took up the game in 2001. Terry was a member of the team that won the Top 10 in 2008 against Warlingham Park. He was a member of the team that lost in the Final of the Past Times in 2010. Terry was a member of the team that lost in the Final of the Yonwin Cup in 2010, 2011 & 2012. He was a member of the team that lost in the Final of the ESL Top 10 in 2012 v Wallington. Terry was elected Vice Captain in 2012 & was the Club's East Surrey League representative in 2012. Terry was elected Men's Captain for 2013/14. He decided to leave EBC in 2014 & joined Sutton BC. He rejoined EBC in 2018. Terry (with Marilyn Walsh-Hoye) won the S&DBA St Raphael Mixed Pairs in 2017 (whilst at Sutton BC) Indoor: Terry qualified for his Surrey County Indoor Bowling Association Badge in 2018 (played at least 1 match in 5 seasons). In 2019 he agreed to look after the Mixed matches with Marilyn Walsh-Hoye. Terry was elected Men's Vice Captain for 2020. Terry played his 100th match in the East Surrey League on Wednesday 8th September 2021. Terry decided to join the Social Section in 2023. He then re joined as a playing member in 2024. |
