Norman Mann

Norman joined Epsom Bowling Club in September 2023.  He originally played at Newdigate B C & is an experienced player.  Norman has qualified for the Surrey County Bowling Association Badge. He is a Level 2 Coach.

Norman was a member of the team that won the Eric Hingston Cup v King George Field on 19/03/24.

Paul Maskell

 

Paul joined Epsom Bowling Club as a novice bowler in June 2022.  This is his first experience of playing bowls.  Paul made his debut playing in the East Surrey League on Sunday 7th May 2023.  He becomes the 167th member to play in this league.  He played lead.  Paul was a member of the squad that won the Chrystie League in 2023 & 2024. Paul won his first singles title at Epsom Bowling Club on 3rd September 2023 in the Lower Handicap Singles.

Terry joined Epsom Bowling Club as a novice bowler in 2023.  Terry played his first match against Chessington on Wednesday 14th June 2023.  He played lead in a triple.

Rob Murkin

 

Rob joined Epsom Bowling Club in May 2024. He played his very first game for Epsom Bowling Club on Saturday 18th May 2024 at home against Dorking.  He played 2.  Rob was a member of the squad that won the Chrystie League in 2024.

Cyril Newman

Cyril was born Ewell Village, Surrey, and left school in 1963.  He started work in Epsom in the Plumbing industry and started in the Water Industry 1967 with Epsom & Ewell Borough Council.  So far Cyril have completed 39 years, 32 with Thames Water, and in May 1 will have completed 40 years service in the Water Industry.  Cyril joined Epsom Bowling Club in 1979 being coached by the late Tom Mockford.  He won the September Open played at Epsom Bowling Club in 2010 with Geoff Purrott, Pat Buckley & Peter Miller.

Cyril was the President of the club in 2006 & 2007.  He was the Property Secretary, Joint Premises Manager,

Health & Safety Officer for several years. He is a Trustee of Epsom Bowling Club. 

Cyril organises Club Night throughout the season.  In 2012 Cyril became Senior Vice President of Epsom Bowling Club.

Cyril qualified as a coach in 2012.  Cyril was a member of the squad that won the East Surrey League in 2015.

Cyril decided to be a Social Member for the 2019 & 2021 seasons.  He was elected Senior Vice President for 2020/21.

Bowls, Gardening, D.I.Y., Local History, C&W Music, Epsom Bowling Club, & Photography.

Wife, Janet & 3 children.
