Vilamoura Mixed League Epsom played against Chipstead on Tuesday 30th June 2026. They won at home, lost away & won overall 35 - 34 (4 - 2)After 9 ends across the 2 rinks Epsom were 14 - 20 down & 4 shots behind (23 - 27) on ends 15. They outscored Chipstead 12 shots to 7 to win by 1 shot. Details: Home: Janet Newman John Wellard Trish Southgate won 25 - 16 Epsom led 11 - 6 after 9 ends & 15 - 11 on end 15. They dropped 5 shots on end 17, but came back well to score a count of 6 on the final end to win by 9 shots. Away: Elaine Coe Fred Read Phil Sims lost 10 - 18 Epsom were 3 - 14 down after 9 ends & 8 - 16 behind on end 15. They lost by 8 shots. Chrystie League Epsom played away against Esher on Monday 29th June 2026. They won on both rinks & the match 35 - 22 (4 - 0). After 9 ends across both rinks Epsom led 16 - 11 & went on to win by 13 shots. (Rink 3 for Esher only had 3 players - their lead & 2 played with 3 bowls & 25% was taken off their final score). Details: Rink 2 Don Indran Nick Rowan John Hart Phil Sims won 17 - 14 The scores were level 6 - 6 after 9 ends, 12 - 12 on end 15 & still level 14 - 14 going into the last end. Of our current members Martin Harbottle, Stefan Tomm & Les Owen played in this first game. Epsom beat Old Coulsdon 3 - 2 (they won the Two Wood, Singles & Pairs). Epsom lost in the 3rd round to Cheam Village. |
