East Surrey League - Men Epsom played away against Shirley Park on Saturday 29th June 2024. They won on 1 rink, lost on 2 rinks & lost overall 35 - 61 (2 - 8). East Surrey League - Ladies Epsom played away against Old Coulsdon on Saturday 29th June 2024. They lost on both rinks & the match 23 - 45 (0 - 4). After 9 ends across the 2 rinks Epsom led 16 - 11, but were 20 - 34 behind on ends 15. They lost by 22 shots. Details: Rink 7 Sandy Cooper Frances Suttonwood Christine Summerfield Ruth Baker lost 12 - 25 Epsom led 9 - 8 after 10 ends, but lost the next 5 ends to go 9 - 22 down. They lost by 13 shots. Rink 8 Penny Payne Trish Southgate Fi Drinkall Mary Green lost 11 - 20 Epsom led 11 - 10 after 13 ends, but lost all the remaining ends to lose by 9 shots. West Surrey League Epsom played away on Friday 28th June 2024 against Knaphill. They lost 10 - 34 Details: Rink 6 Keith Roberts Trish Southgate Fi Drinkall Wayne Thornton lost 10 - 35 Not a good night for Epsom. They won on 6 ends & lost by 25 shots. Did you know This is the very first time that Epsom have played in a league match or friendly game against Knaphill since records have been kept. However, Brian Kenyon, John Warren, David Sowdon & John Huxford played Knaphill in the Semi Final of the Area Top 4 Competition in 2014. They lost 20 - 25.

East Surrey League - Mid Week Triples Epsom travelled to Old Coulsdon to play their first Mid Week ESL Triples match on Thursday 27th June 2024. They won on 1 rink, lost on 2 rinks & lost overall 48 - 58 (2 - 8). After 9 ends across the 3 rinks Epsom led 31 - 25 & still led by 5 shots (46 - 41) on ends 15. They lost by 10 shots. Details: Rink 1 David Lodge Mick Cooper Norman Mann won 27 - 12 Epsom were 1 - 9 down after 5 ends, but scored a 6, 6 & 3 to go ahead 16 - 9. They lost the next end, but won the next 5 ends to go further ahead 25 - 10. They won by 15 shots. Ronk 2 Paul Maskell John Hart Phil Sims lost 9 - 26 Epsom were 6 - 7 down after 6 ends & lost the next 4 ends to go further behind 6 - 13. They won 1 of the last 7 ends to lose by 17 shots. Rink 3 Stefan Tomm Kevin Phillips David Fearn lost 12 - 20 Epsom led 12 - 6 after 13 ends then lost all the remaining ends to lose by 8 shots. Rink 6 Liz Hind Lynn Phillips Mary Green won 15 - 14 Epsom led 12 - 6 after 9 ends & 15 - 9 on end 13. They lost the last 2 ends & won by 1 shot. Chrystie League Epsom played their fourth Chrystie league game of the season on Monday 24th June 2024 away against Leatherhead. They won on both rinks & the match 43 - 26 (4 - 0). Epsom were playing the league leaders and led all evening. They were 22 - 12 ahead across the 2 rinks after 9 ends & led 32 - 22 on ends 15. They won by 17 shots. Epsom are now top of the league having won all 4 games played in this league so far. Details: Rink 4 Stefan Tomm Frank Thompson Bob Blaker Fred Read won 22 - 12 Epsom were 1 - 2 down after 3 ends, but won the next 7 ends to lead 17 - 2. They led 18 - 9 on end 15 & won by 10 shots. Rink 5 Ray Brockwell Rob Murkin Keith Roberts John Hart won 21 - 14 Epsom were 8 - 10 down after 9 ends, but won 5 of the remaining ends to win by 7 shots. Bowls England Ladies Top Club Epsom ladies played at home against Sutton on Saturday 22nd June 2024. They the Triples, lost the Singles, Pairs & Fours. They lost 1 - 3. Details: Rink 5 Singles: Fi Drinkall lost 15 - 21 Fi led 15 - 11 after 15 ends, but lost the next 5 ends to lose by 5 shots. Rink 2 Pairs: Sandy Cooper Annette Jordan lost 6 - 25 Epsom were 6 - 7 down after 11 ends, but lost the next 6 ends to go 6 - 25 down. They lost by 19 shots. (the last end was tied). Rink 3 Triples: Trish Southgate Ruth Baker Mary Green won 17 - 14 Epsom led 10 - 5 after 9 ends & 15 - 10 on end 14. They won by 3 shots. Rink 4 Fours: Penny Payne Frances Suttonwood Christine Summerfield Sandie Harvey lost 4 - 32 Epsom were outplayed on this rink & lost by 28 shots. Final Score: Epsom 1 point Sutton 3 points.

East Surrey League - Men Epsom played away against Croydon on Saturday 22nd June 2024. They won on 2 rinks, lost on 1 rink & won overall 53 - 40 (8 - 2). Epsom led all afternoon across the 3 rinks. They were 10 shots ahead (27 - 17) after 9 ends & led 46 - 30 on ends 15. They won by 13 shots. Details: Rink 3 Phil Sims John Wellard David Fearn Wayne Thornton won 20 - 12 Epsom were 3 - 5 down after 6 ends, but won the next 4 ends to lead 12 - 5. They still led 12 - 8 on end 13 & won 3 of the last 5 ends to win by 8 shots. Sutton & District Bowling Association - Yonwin Cup Epsom played at home on Wednesday19th June 2024 against Ewell Village. They won on 1 rink, lost on 2 rinks & lost overall 42 - 53. Details: Rink 2 Ted Ray Bob Blaker Norman Mann Martin Harbottle lost 15 - 18 Epsom were 9 - 14 down after 12 ends, but won the next 3 ends to go 15 - 14 ahead. They lost the last 3 ends to lose by 3 shots. Rink 3 Hayden Thornton Phil Sims Keith Roberts David Fearn won 15 - 14 Epsom were 2 - 6 down after 8 ends, but won the next 4 ends to lead 12 - 6. Rink 4 David Bragg John Hart Wayne Thornton Jim Scott lost 12 - 21 Epsom were 10 - 12 down after 9 ends & 11 - 14 behind on end 12. They won 1 of the last 6 ends to lost by 9 shots. Final Score: Epsom 42 Ewell Village 53 *Did you know* Yonwin Cup The Yonwin Cup first started in 1950. Epsom first entered the Competition in 1976. They played Berrylands in the first round & won 66 – 54. They lost to Cuddington in the next round 50 – 67. Epsom have won the Trophy on 7 occasions & lost in 5 finals. Since 1976 Epsom have played 124 matches, won 87 & lost 37. The highest shot difference win came in 2019 against Cuddington when Epsom won 74 – 32 (+42).

Mixed Friendly Epsom played a mixed Triples friendly game on Tuesday 18th June 2024 away against Leatherhead. They won on 3 rinks, lost on 1 rink & won overall 78 - 64. After 14 ends across the 4 rinks Epsom were 49 - 57 down. However, they outscored Leatherhead 29 - 7 over the last 4 ends to win by 14 shots. Details: Rink 1 Paul Maskell Lynn Phillips Mick Cooper won 25 - 12Epsom led 9 - 7 after 9 ends & 18 - 12 on end 15. They won by 13 shots. Rink 2 Stefan Tomm Christine Summerfield Marilyn Hoye won 20 - 12 Epsom led 11 - 3 after 9 ends & 15 - 9 on end 15. They won by 8 shots. Rink 3 Terry Hoye Roger Jackson Sandy Cooper won 19 - 18 Epsom wer 8 - 18 down on end 12, but won all the remaining ends to win by 1 shot. Rink 4 Audrey Jones Fred Read Phil Sims lost 14 - 22 Epsom were 4 - 11 down after 9 ends & lost by 8 shots. Final Score: Epsom 78 Leatherhead 64 Did you know The first recorded mixed match against Leatherhead was in 1992. Since 2003 there have been no games (no reason has been given for this) until 2024.

Chrystie League Epsom played their third Chrystie league game of the season on Monday 17th June 2024 at home against Bookham. They won on 1 rink, lost on 1 rink & won overall 30 - 27 (3 - 1). Details: Rink 2 Richard Price John Wellard Mick Cooper John Hart won 16 - 11 Epsom led 8 - 7 after 9 ends & 16 - 11 on end 15. They lost the last 3 ends, but won by 1 shot. (Bookham only had 3 players on this rink so the original score of 16 - 15 was reduced to a win by 5 shots). Rink 3 Terry Mears Barry Hillson Frank Thompson Fred Read lost 14 - 16 Epsom led 8 - 7 after 9 ends & 14 - 12 on end 16. They lost the last 2 ends to lose by 2 shots. Men's Friendly Epsom played a friendly Triples match at home against Chessington on Wednesday 12th June 2024. They won on 2 rinks, lost on 1 rink & won overall 57 - 39. Epsom led all afternoon across the 3 rinks. They led 28 - 13 after 9 ends & went on to win by 18 shots. After 9 ends across the 3 rinks Epsom led 28 - 19 & were further ahead by 19 shots (53 - 34) on ends 15. They won by 12 shots.
