Chrystie League

Epsom Men played away against Bookham on Monday 31st July 2017 & won on all both rinks & the match 36 - 24.  This win makes sure that Epsom win the Chrystie League for the second time. (won in 2004).

Details:

Rink 1  Brian Kenyon  Graham Coleman  Phil Sims  Fred Read  won 15 - 13

After 8 ends Epsom led 7 - 4, but went behind on the 10th end 7 - 9.  Epsom drew level 10 - 10 on the 13th end and went on to win by 2 shots.

Rink 2  Bill Lawrence  Bob Lister  Andrew Turnbull  Bob Blaker  won 21 - 11

After 8 ends Epsom led 9 -3 and picked up 5 shots on the next end to go further ahead.  They led 18 - 11 on the 15th end finally winning by 10 shots.

Final Score:  Epsom 36  Bookham 24    Epsom 4 points  Bookham 0 points.

 

Area 3 Top 4

Epsom played at home against Old Coulsdon on Monday 31st July 2017 & lost 8 - 20.

Details:

Rink 1  Keith Roberts  Stefan Lukatschat  Cyril Newman  Les Owen  lost 8 - 20

Epsom made a poor start finding themselves 0 7 down after 6 ends.  However, they levelled the scores 3 ends later.  The rest of the game was dominated by Old Coulsdon leaving Epsom losing by 12 shots.

 

East Surrey League - Facts

After the 12 - 0 win against Chipstead on Sunday 30th July you may be interested in the following facts & figures:-

This was only the second time that Epsom have won 3 matches 12 - 0 in a row.  The last time was in 2015 (when Epsom won the title) when Epsom beat Ashtead, Shirley Park & Purley.

The only other time that Epsom has beaten Chipstead on all 4 rinks was in 2006.

The best win against Chipstead came in 2003 - 106 - 66.  The best sequence of wins is 4 (2015/2016).

Epsom's overall record against Chipstead since the League began is poor.  It is only in recent years that the Club has been more successful. At present Epsom have played Chipstead 28 times, winning 11, losing 15, drawing 2.

This year Epsom have played 11 matches so far, won 7, lost 4, scored 914 shots, 787 against & gained 87 points.  They are at the moment 2nd in the League.

 

East Surrey League - Men

Epsom Men played at home against Chipstead on Sunday 30th July 2017 & won on all 4 rinks and the match 93 - 66 (12 - 0).  This was the 3rd match in a row that Epsom have won 12 - 0.

Details:

Rink 3  Dave Pearce  Bob Blaker  John Meningen  Terry Berry  won 27 - 17

Epsom started badly on this rink finding themselves 5 - 10 down after 10 ends.  However, over the next 6 ends Epsom outscored Chipstead 19 - 1 to go ahead 24 - 11.  The last few ends were very even, but Epsom won by 10 shots.

Rink 4  Brian Kenyon Martin Harbottle  Les Owen  Jim Scott  won 16 - 14

Epsom led 6 - 4 after 6 ends, but Chipstead won the next 6 ends to go ahead 6 - 13. Of the remaining 9 ends Epsom won 8 scoring 10 shots to Chipstead's 1 shot going on to win by 2 shots.

Rink 5  Peter Salmon  Andrew Turnbull  John Hart  Graham Naish  won 22 - 21

The scores were level 11 - 11 after 10 ends, but Epsom went behind 12 - 14 on the 12th end.  They then won the next 4 ends to go ahead 18 - 14 and then immediately dropped 5 shots on end 17 to go behind once more (18 - 19). Going into the last end Epsom had a 2 shot cushion and managed to restrict Chipstead to 1 shot to win a close encounter by 1 shot.

Rink 6  David Bragg  Simon Meller  John Huxford  Peter Miller  won 28 - 14

Epsom had a very good win on this rink and led all afternoon.  After 10 ends they led 15 - 7 and extended this to 23 - 8 after 15 ends.  They went on to win by 14 shots.

Final Score:  Epsom 93  Chipstead 66    Epsom 12 points   Chipstead 0 points

 

Mixed Friendly

Epsom played at home against The Piscatorials BA on Saturday 29th July 2017 in a mixed Triple match and won on 4 rinks, lost on 1 rink and won overall 123 - 60.

Details:

Rink 1  Brian Kenyon  Gill Sperring  John Warren  won 34 - 8

Epsom dominated this rink from the start.  They led 16 - 8 after 10 ends, 27 - 8 after 15 ends and won by 26 shots.

Rink 2  Mike James  Ron Snow  Eileen Mills  won 19 - 14

Epsom had a good lead after 10 ends (17 - 4) & 19 - 5 after 15 ends.  The Piscatorials finished well leaving Epsom winners by 5 shots.

Rink 3  Audrey Jones  Keith Roberts Sandra Huxford    won 23 - 9

A good performance by Epsom on this rink when they led 11 - 5 after 10 ends & 16 - 8 after 15 ends.  They went on to win by 14 shots.

Rink 4  Sandie Harvey  Vic Phillips  George Sperring  lost 18 - 19

Epsom led 12 - 9 after 10 ends, but The Piscatorials drew level 16 - 16 after 15 ends.  Going into the last end Epsom was 2 shots down, but when the skips went to the mat Epsom were holding 3 shots.  The opposing skip managed to get second wood with her last bowl leaving Epsom losing by just 1 shot.

Rink 5  Trish Southgate  Frank Thompson  John Huxford    won 29 - 10

Epsom also dominated this rink when they led 12 - 8 after 10 ends and 19 - 10 after 15 ends.  Epsom won the last 3 ends finally winning by 19 shots.

Final Score:  Epsom 123  Piscatorials BA 60

 

Sutton & District Bowling Association - Yonwin Cup

Epsom played away against Surbiton RBL on Friday 28th July 2017 and won on 2 rinks, lost on the 3rd and won overall 56 - 43.

Details:

Rink 3  Dave Pearce  John Meningen  Terry Berry  Graham Naish  won 22 - 9

Epsom got off to an excellent start when they led 10 - 0 after 8 ends.  Epsom still had a good lead, 15 - 8 after 15 ends & went on to win by 13 shots.

Rink 4  Brian Kenyon  Bob Blaker  Peter Miller  Les Owen  lost 15 - 19

This was a close game all evening.  The scores were level 10 - 10 after 12 ends & 15 - 15 after 18 ends.  Epsom lost the last 3 ends to lose by 4 shots.

Rink 5  Peter Salmon  John Hart  John Warren  Jim Scott  won 19 - 15

Epsom led 12 - 6 after 10 ends and 16 - 11 after 15 ends.  Despite losing the last 2 ends Epsom won by 4 shots.

Final Score:  Epsom 56  Surbiton RBL 43

Peter Salmon played in his first game in the Yonwin Cup.

 

Chrystie League v Esher

Epsom played away against Esher on Monday 24th July 2017 and won on both rinks & the match 45 - 23 (4 - 0).

Details:

Quite a story on this rink with Epsom trailing 0 - 12 after 8 ends then winning all the remaining ends to win by 7 shots.

Rink 3  Brian Kenyon  Stefan Lukatschat  Geoff Purrott  Fred Read  won 26 - 11

Epsom led 16 - 4 after 9 ends & continued to outplay Esher going on to win by 15 shots.

Final Score:  Epsom 45  Esher 23   Epsom 4 points  Esher 0 points

 

East Surrey League - Ladies

Epsom Ladies played away against Old Coulsdon on Saturday 22nd July 2017 in a League match and lost on both rinks & the match 13 - 40 (0 - 4).  It was agreed to play 15 ends only because of the poor weather. (no alternative date could be reached).

After 10 ends Epsom led 8 - 6, but failed to win any of the remaining ends finally losing by 5 shots.

Rink 6  Sandra Huxford  Frances Suttonwood  Anne Hoffmann  Eileen Mills  lost 5 - 27

Epsom only managed to score on 3 ends and lost heavily by 22 shots.

Final Score:  Epsom 13  Old Coulsdon 40   Epsom 0 points  Old Coulsdon 4 points

 

Men's Friendly

Epsom played away against Merton Park on Saturday 22nd July 2017 in a Friendly match and won on all 3 rinks & the match 74 - 36.

Details:

Rink 2  Brian Kenyon  Ron Snow  John Warren  Terry Berry  won 24 - 11

Epsom had a 1 shot lead after 10 ends, 8 - 7, but went ahead 16 - 9 after 15 ends.  They finished strongly going on to win by 13 shots.

Rink 3  Mike James  Bill Lawrence  Keith Roberts  John Hart  won 22 - 19

The scores were level 9 - 9 after 10 ends, but Epsom went behind 14 - 16 after 15 ends.  Epsom outscored Merton Park 8 - 3 over the remaining ends to win by 3 shots.

Rink 4  Brian Collis  Bob Lister  Bob Blaker  Graham Naish  won 28 - 6

An excellent performance by Epsom on this rink winning 16 of the 21 ends.  After 10 ends they led 12 - 2 & 21 - 5 after 15 ends.  They also finished strongly winning by 22 shots.

Final Score:  Epsom 74  Merton Park 36

 

Vilamoura Mixed League

Epsom played against Carshalton in the Vilamoura Mixed League on Friday 21st July 2017 and won at home, lost away & lost overall 31 - 35 (2 - 4).

Details:

Home: Ruth Baker Anne Hoffmann  Stefan Lukatschat  lost 11 - 16

Epsom was behind all afternoon.  They trailed 7 - 11 after 12 ends & lost by 5 shots.

Away:  Keith Roberts  Gill Sperring Andrew Turnbull  won 20 - 19

After 13 ends the scores were level 13 - 13 & still level 19 - 19 on the penultimate end.  Epsom scored 1 shot on the final end to win narrowly by 1 shot.

Final Score:  Epsom 31  Carshalton 35    Epsom 2 points  Carshalton 4 points

 

Vilamoura Mixed League

Epsom played against Purley in the Vilamoura Mixed League on Thursday 20th July 2017 and won on 1 rink, lost on 1 rink, but won overall 36 - 23 (4 - 2).

Details:

Home:  Audrey Jones  Eileen Mills  Brian Kenyon  won 22 - 7

Epsom led from the start at home.  They led 9 - 5 after 10 ends and went on to win by 15 shots.

Away:  Mike James  Heather Pigden  John Hart  lost 14 - 16

Epsom had a good lead, 13 - 7 after 10 ends, but Purley closed the gap to just 1 shot (14 - 13) after 15 ends.  Epsom lost narrowly by 2 shots.

Final Score:  Epsom 36  Purley 23   Epsom 4 points  Purley 2 points

 

Men's Friendly

Epsom played away against Wallington on Thursday 20th July 2017 in a Friendly Triples match and won on all 4 rinks & the match 82 - 58.  Epsom were short of men players going into this match & Sandie Cooper stepped in to play.

Details:

Rink 2  David Ganney  Ron Snow  Peter Miller  won 22 - 21

A game of two halves on this rink with Epsom leading 17 - 6 after 9 ends.  Wallington had a good second half and narrowed the gap to 2 shots on the 15th end. Going into the last end Epsom led 22 - 20 and restricted Wallington to just 1 shot to win by 1 shot.

Rink 3  Bill Lawrence  Bob Lister  Geoff Purrott  won 19 - 16

After 9 ends Epsom led 11 - 6, but Wallington went ahead 11 - 12 on the 12th end.  Epsom then won the next 4 ends scoring a total of 7 shots to go ahead 18 - 12.  Despite dropping a count of 4 on the 17th end Epsom won by 3 shots.

Rink 4  Sandie Cooper  Stefan Tomm  Les Owen  won 23 - 10

After 9 ends Epsom had a 16 - 4 lead and maintained this momentum all afternoon going on to win by 13 shots.

Rink 5  Mick Cooper  Frank Thompson  Fred Read  won 18 - 11

Epsom had a good lead 12 - 4 after 9 ends on this rink and just like rink 4 kept a good lead finally winning by 7 shots.

Final Score:  Epsom 82  Wallington 58

Sandie & Mick Cooper played their first competitive match for Epsom.

 

Mixed Friendly

Epsom played a Mixed Friendly Triples against Brockham on Wednesday 19th July 2017 and won on 1 rink, lost on 2 rinks and lost the match 51 - 54.

Details:

Rink 1  Ruth Baker  Bill Lawrence  Eileen Mills  won 19 - 11

Epsom led 8 - 7 after 10 ends, but had the better of the rest of the game going on to win by 8 shots.

Rink 2  Peter Humphreys Keith Roberts  Brian Kenyon  lost 13 - 17

After 10 ends Epsom trailed 5 - 12, but had a better 8 ends finally losing by 4 shots.

Rink 3  Mike James Ruth Nixon  Sandra Huxford    lost 19 - 26

This was a game of two halves as Epsom led 16 - 9 after 10 ends, but were outplayed by Brockham over the rest of the evening going on to lose by 7 shots.

Final Score:  Epsom 51  Brockham 54

 

Chrystie League v Brockham

Epsom played at home against Brockham on Monday 17th July 2017 and won on both rinks & the match 41 - 21

(4 - 0).

After 9 ends Epsom led 9 - 5 & 11 - 7 after 13 ends.  Epsom won all of the remaining ends to win by 13 shots.

Rink 2  Brian Kenyon  Bob Lister  Phil Sims  Fred Read  won 21 - 14

Epsom had a good lead, 13 - 3 after 9 ends, but the rest of the game was very even.  Epsom went on to win by 7 shots.

Final Score:  Epsom 41  Brockham 21     Epsom 4 points  Brockham 0 points

 

Area 3 Top 4 - Epsom 'A'

Epsom 'A' travelled to Purley in the Area 3 Top 4 on Monday 17th July 2017 and won 23 - 18.

Details:

Rink 2  Keith Roberts  Stefan Lukatschat  Cyril Newman  Les Owen  won 23 - 18

Epsom got off to a very good start and led 13 - 6 after 10 ends. They extended this lead to 20 - 10 after 15 ends, but then dropped four 2's to lead by only 2 shots on the 19th end.  Epsom managed to score 2 shots on end 20 & 1 shot on the last end to win by 5 shots.

 

Mixed Friendly

Epsom played at home against Ashtead on Sunday 16th July 2017 in a Mixed Friendly & won on 3 rinks, drew on the 4th & won overall 97 - 62.

Details:

Rink 2  Lesley South  Trish Southgate  Dolly Snow  John Warren  won 19 - 16

After 15 ends the scores were level 12 - 12, but Epsom immediately went ahead & kept in front and won by 3 shots.

Rink 3  Audrey Jones Sandie Harvey  Ruth Baker  Geoff Purrott  won 27 - 15

This rink was in control all afternoon and led 15 - 6 after 10 ends & extended this to 25 - 10 on the 15th end.  They went on to win by 12 shots.

Rink 4  Bill Lawrence  Sue Needham  Sandra Huxford  David Bragg  won 31 - 11

A strong performance by Epsom on this rink.  They led 21 - 7 after 16 ends and won by 20 shots.

Rink 5  Vic Phillips  Frank Thompson  Eileen Mills Brian Kenyon    drew 20 - 20

This was a close encounter all afternoon.  Epsom had a 2 shot lead on the 15th end (15 - 13), but were behind 15 - 18 on the 18th end. They scored 4 shots on end 19 to go ahead 19 - 18 & 1 shot on end 20 to lead by 2.  Ashtead scored 2 shots on the last end to tie the rink.

Final Score:  Epsom 97  Ashtead 62

 

East Surrey League - Men

Epsom Men played at home against Sutton on Saturday 15th July 2017 & won on all 4 rinks. They won 98 - 52 (12 - 0).

Details:

Rink 1  Dave Pearce  Bob Blaker  John Meningen  Terry Berry  won 23 - 11

Epsom led 11 - 4 after 10 ends & 17 - 6 after 15 ends. They maintained this momentum and went on to win by 12 shots.

Rink 2  David Bragg  John Huxford   Martin Harbottle Peter Miller  won 34 - 16

Epsom was losing 4 - 6 after 6 ends, but then scored a total of 13 shots over the next 5 ends to go ahead 17 - 6. They still had a good lead, 24 - 16 after 16 ends & finished strongly winning the remaining ends to win by 18 shots.

Rink 3  Peter Salmon  Andrew Turnbull  John Hart  Graham Naish  won 25 - 14

Epsom led 13 - 5 after 10 ends & 15 - 11 after 15 ends.  They went on to win by 11 shots.

Rink 4  Simon Meller  Keith Roberts  John Warren  Les Owen  won 16 - 11

This was a very close game with Epsom leading 8 - 6 after 10 ends.  On the 19th end Epsom still had a 2 shot advantage and won the last 2 ends to win by 5 shots.

Final Score:  Epsom 98  Sutton 52    Epsom 12 points  Sutton 0 points

 

East Surrey League - Ladies

Epsom Ladies played at home against Sutton on Saturday 15th July 2017 & lost on both rinks. They lost 28 - 38 (0 - 4).

Details:

Rink 5  Audrey Jones  Frances Suttonwood  Sandra Huxford  Heather Pigden  lost 12 - 21

Epsom led 8 - 5 after 10 ends, but Sutton came back well to dominate the rest of the game.  Epsom lost by 9 shots.

Rink 6  Trish Southgate  Ruth Baker  Anne Hoffmann  Eileen Mills  lost 16 - 17

Epsom had a good lead, 14 - 7 after 15 ends & 16 - 10 after 17 ends.  Sutton came back strongly & won the last 4 ends picking up 7 shots leaving Epsom losing by just 1 shot.

Final Score:  Epsom 28  Sutton 38   Epsom 0 points  Sutton 4 points.

Frances Suttonwood & Trish Southgate played their very first East Surrey League match for Epsom Bowling Club.

 

Past Times

Epsom 'A' played Leatherhead on Friday 14th July 2017 and won on both rinks & the match 42 - 34.

Details:

Home:  Brian Kenyon  John Hart  Martin Harbottle Graham Naish  won 20 - 15

After 9 ends Epsom led 7 - 6, but then won the next 7 ends to go ahead 18 - 6.  Leatherhead came back strongly outscoring Epsom 2 - 9 over the remaining ends. Epsom went on to win by 5 shots.

Away: Dave Pearce  Cyril Newman  Les Owen  Terry Berry  won 22 - 19

After 9 ends the scores were level 9 - 9, but Epsom went behind 13 - 15 on the 15th end.  On the 16th end Epsom went ahead scoring 4 shots, but were soon pegged back falling behind again on the 18th end (17 - 19).

Going into the last end the scores were level once more.  With the skips having one bowl each left and facing one shot down Terry put the jack in the ditch for 3 shots.  The opposing skip drew his bowl just out of the rink.  Epsom won by 3 shots.

Final Score:  Epsom 42  Leatherhead 34

Dave Pearce played in his very first Past Times game for Epsom Bowling Club.

 

Men's Friendly

Epsom travelled to Cuddington on Wednesday 12th July 2017 to play in a Friendly Triples match and won on 3 rinks, lost on 1 rink, but won overall 70 - 51.

Details:

Rink 2  Bill Lawrence  Frank Thompson  Keith Roberts  lost 12 - 18

After 10 ends Epsom was 6 - 10 in arrears and further behind 8 - 16 after 14 ends.  They finally lost by 6 shots.

Rink 3  David Ganney  Ken Lacey  Fred Read  won 20 - 9

Epsom took the lead 7 - 4 on the 7th end and stayed in front all afternoon.  They won by 11 shots.

Rink 4  Guest  Phil Sims  Cyril Newman  won  18 - 12

The scores were level 10 - 10 after 10 ends, but Epsom had the better of the rest of the game winning by 6 shots.

Rink 5  Stefan Tomm  Ron Snow  Brian Kenyon  won 20 - 12

Epsom led 11 - 7 after 10 ends and just like rink 4 outscored Cuddington in the rest of the game winning by 8 shots.

Final Score:  Epsom 70  Cuddington 51

 

Vilamoura Mixed League

On Wednesday 12th July 2017 Epsom played their very second match in the Vilamoura Mixed League against Sutton and won at home and lost narrowly away.  They won overall 44 - 27 (4 - 2).

Details:

Home:  Frances Suttonwood  Howard Ellis  Andrew Turnbull  won 32 - 14

Epsom raced into a 24 - 5 lead after 10 ends & continued to out play Sutton going on to win by 18 shots.

Away:  Graham Coleman  Anne Hoffmann  Geoff Purrott    lost 12 - 13

Epsom led for most of this game.  They led 10 - 8 after 15 ends, but were beaten on the last end.

Final Score:  Epsom 44  Sutton 27   Epsom 4 points  Sutton 2 points

 

Chrystie League

Epsom  played away against Pippbrook on Monday 10th July 2017 & won on 1 rink, drew on the second and won overall 31 - 22 (3½ - ½).

Details:

After 9 ends the scores were level 6 - 6.  Epsom took the lead 12 - 10 on the 16th end, but Pippbrook scored 2 singles on the last 2 ends to tie the rink.

Rink 2  Bill Lawrence  Graham Coleman  Stefan Lukatschat  Fred Read  won 19 - 10

Epsom led 8 - 3 after 10 ends and dominated the rest of the game going on to win by 9 shots.

Final Score:  Epsom 31  Pippbrook 22    Epsom 3½ points  Pippbrook ½ point

 

East Surrey League - Men

Epsom played at home against Purley Bury on Sunday 9th July 2017 & won on all 4 rinks. They won 98 - 65 (12 - 0).

This was the first 12 - 0 this season - an excellent victory against a very good Purley Bury team.

Epsom had a slow start finding themselves 7 - 12 behind after 10 ends.  They were still behind at 16 ends (15 - 19), but scored 7 shots over the next 4 ends to take the lead 22 - 19 (20th end) .  Epsom restricted Purley Bury to 2 shots on the last end to secure a very good win by 1 shot.

Rink 4  Simon Meller  Keith Roberts  John Hart  Peter Miller    won 29 - 16

This was a very good performance on this rink.  Epsom led 12 - 10 after 12 ends, but then scored a total of 13 shots over the next 4 ends to go 25 - 10 ahead.  Despite dropping a count of 5 on end 19 Epsom won by 13 shots.

Rink 5  Peter Salmon  Geoff Purrott  Martin Harbottle  Graham Naish  won 25 - 10

Another good win on this rink with Epsom leading 20 - 2 after 11 ends.  After 15 ends they led 23 - 6 & went on to win by 15 shots.

Rink 6  Dave Pearce  Bob Blaker  John Meningen  Terry Berry  won 22 - 18

After 14 ends Epsom had a very good lead - 20 - 8.  Purley Bury came back well, but Epsom went on to win by 4 shots.

Final Score:  Epsom 98  Purley Bury 65   Epsom 12 points  Purley Bury 0 points

This win extends Epsom's record wins in a row against Purley Bury to 6.

 

Ladies' East Surrey League v Cheam Fields

Epsom Ladies played at home on Sunday morning 9th July 2017 against Cheam Fields & won on both rinks & the match 53 - 23 (4 - 0).

Details:

Rink 1  Audrey Jones  Jan Allum  Sylvia Smart  Gill Sperring  won 31 - 10

Epsom raced into a 14 - 4 lead after 10 ends & continued to dominate the game.  They led 22 - 8 after 15 ends finally winning by 21 shots.

Rink 2  Ruth Baker  Sandra Huxford  Heather Pigden  Eileen Mills  won 22 - 13

This rink had an amazing start when they led 17 - 1 after 10 ends.  Cheam Fields came back well & won 7 of the remaining ends, but Epsom won by 9 shots.

Final Score:  Epsom 53  Cheam Fiels 23   Epsom 4 points  Cheam Fields 0 points

 

Ladies' Friendly

Epsom Ladies travelled the short distance to play Cheam in a friendly triples on Thursday 6th July 2017.  The game was stopped after 13 ends on one rink & 16 ends on the other because of the extreme hot weather.  Epsom lost the match 19 - 32.

After 8 ends Epsom was 6 - 11 down and scored 3 more shots finally losing by 13 shots.

Rink 6  Ruth Baker  Heather Pigden  Gill Sperring  drew 10 - 10 (13 ends)

Epsom led 7 - 4 after 7 ends & 10 - 6 after 11 ends.  However, Cheam scored 1 shot on end 12 & 3 shots on the 13th end to draw level.

Vilamoura Mixed League

Epsom joined the Vilamoura League in 2017.  This is a Triples Competition with one team at home and one team away. The competition is for ‘mixed’ teams i.e. to include at least 1 female or 1 male in each triple. Preference should be given to non-badged players but, if necessary, 1 badged player per triple will be allowed.

Scoring will be: 2 points for a win of a single game, 1 point each for a draw plus 2 points for the overall aggregate match win (total 6). If the aggregate match scores are equal - 1 point each.

On Tuesday 4th July 2017 Epsom played their very first match in the Vilamoura Mixed League against Chipstead and won at home and away.  They won overall 50 - 20 (6 - 0)

After 11 ends Epsom led 12 – 5, but then dropped 4 shots on end 12 & 5 shots on end 13 to go behind 12 – 14.  Epsom recovered well and outscored Chipstead 11- 1 over the remaining ends to win by 8 shots.

Away  Sandra Huxford  Sylvia Smart  John Huxford  won 27 – 5

Epsom dominated this game all evening going into a 12 - 1 lead after just 5 ends.  After 14 ends they led by 20 shots (24 - 4) finally winning by 21 shots.

Final Result:  Epsom 50   Chipstead 20    Epsom 6 points  Chipstead 0 points

 

Chrystie League

Epsom  played away against Leatherhead on Monday 3rd July 2017 & lost on both rinks.  This was the first defeat for Epsom in this League this season.

Details:

This rink was chasing the game all night finally losing by 7 shots.

Rink 3  Derek Cash  Frank Thompson  Graham Coleman  Keith Roberts  lost 12 - 14

This rink were 5 - 14 down with 3 ends to play, but scored a total of 7 shots to lose by just 2 shots.

Final Score:  Epsom 26  Leatherhead 35    Epsom 0 points  Leatherhead 4 points
