Result of Home Counties match v Berkshire on Sunday 10th April 2022 played at Camberley IBC

Surrey won the Home Counties League by beating Berkshire.  Surrey led all throughout this match.  They led 75 – 39 after 10 ends across the 6 rinks, 110 – 57 after 15 ends & went on to win 147 – 96 (18 – 4) – 51 shots.

Despite losing this match Surrey won the DHMT Cup based on the number of points gained over 3 matches.  Surrey won on 3 rinks, lost on 3 rinks & lost overall 97 – 129. They were 39 – 72 down after 10 ends across the 6 rinks & lost by 32 shots.

The Presidents played their very last game of the season against King George and won on 2 rinks, lost on 4 rinks & lost the match 99 – 122.  The Presidents were behind all afternoon.  They were 63 - 84 down after 10 ends, 28 shots behind after 18 ends & lost by 23 shots.

Result of Liberty Trophy match v Lincolnshire on Saturday 26th March 2022 played at Nottingham IBC.

 

Surrey reached this Final for the first time since 1977/78 when Surrey beat Somerset.  This was Lincolnshire’s 4th Final (they won in 1980/81 beating Kent & were finalists in 1983/84 -losing to Wiltshire & 2014/15 - losing to Northamptonshire).

Surrey won on 1 rink, lost on 5 rinks & lost overall 81 – 125. Surrey were behind all afternoon across the 6 rinks.  They trailed 46 – 66 after 10 ends & lost by 44 shots.

Surrey won on 5 rinks, lost on 1 rink & won overall 134 – 109.  Surrey started slowly finding themselves 21 – 34 down across the 6 rinks after 5 ends.  They came back strongly & led 90 – 85 after 15 ends.  The game was still close with 3 ends to play on each rink, but Surrey outscored Essex 25 – 11 over these last 3 ends to win by 25 shots.  After the match Roy Fairman & Paul Rickerby were presented with their County Badge by the President, Peter Duncan.
