For many years, some
Areas - but not all - organised and ran their own Area Top Four
Competition resulting in a final winner for that Area. An
idea was put forward that a County 'Top Four' competition should
be arranged by the County for the winners of each Area
competition. The first requirement was for all Areas to
run their own competition - and under the same rules. Once
this had been agreed, the late Tom Nicholds - County President
in 1994 - presented a Cup for the four winning Areas to play off
during September. This competition, open to all Clubs with
a restriction that only one badged player may represent the Club
in the rink, has been in operation now since 1994. |
